Coaches face a myriad of choices in trying to find what motivates athletes to improve. you want to unlock the greatness within, but this is a challenging task. In the search for improvement, you may need to evaluate your entire programs including finding ways to increase your effectiveness as leaders. One of the ways you can better serve students is to take an active role in learning. Whether you’re a veteran or first year coach, professional development needs to be a continual goal to improve athletic programs. Here are some professional organizations that can help improve coaching.

Professional Membership in the NFHS advances the mission of the NFHS with a commitment to professional development, wellness and risk minimization, sportsmanship, and national programming in interscholastic education-based athletics and performing arts activities.
The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Learning Center is an education tool that offers courses to high school coaches, administrators, parents, students, and officials. Members have an opportunity for insurance coverage & full access to the NFHS Rules App.
An official publication of the National Federation of State High School Associations, is published eight times a year by the NFHS. It keeps principals, superintendents, school board members, athletic directors, coaches and NFHS member state associations apprised of news regarding high school athletic and performing arts activities.

Started in 2011 with the simple goal of helping coaches coach. Since that time Coaches Insider has built a content library of over 4,000 videos featuring hundreds of different high level coaches in 9 different sports.
The Minnesota State High School Coaches Association was founded in 1936 to unite Minnesota Coaches. Today in 2023, the MSHSCA has over 9000 annual members. The MSHSCA membership is comprised of high school athletic coaches, collegiate athletic coaches, and athletic administrators. The primary benefits of being an MSHSCA member are $2.0 million in liability insurance and participation in the Minnesota State High School League Advisory process.
