The WHY behind this blog...

Greetings all--

I have spent some time thinking about why I send this type of correspondence and what my purpose is. I have concluded that coaches have a tremendous influence, positive or negative, in the lives of athletes. Too often, however, the delivery of quality coaching is left to chance. Athletes deserve coaches who create positive environments, foster skill development, and build character. Therefore, my goal is to provide you both formal and informal information with the understanding that current standards and guidelines as well as the emerging trends and research are essential for providing quality athletic experiences and your continued growth as a coaching professional. 

 

I am here to help all coaches, head coaches and assistant coaches, as well as your teams to have successful and enjoyable seasons.  I am also here to help guide you professional growth and to help you assemble the tools to improve the learning experience and skill development of the students who participate in your programs.

 

With all of this in mind I have decided to title this periodic correspondence, “Some Assembly Required.”
