Good morning all,

I am writing to you today to let you know that Benilde-St. Margaret’s has entered into an exclusive agreement with Nike and BSN for the purchase and supply of athletic apparel and equipment for use by our school and our interscholastic programs.

As an incentive Benilde-St. Margaret’s will receive a total of $75,000 in Nike stock apparel at retail prices. This works out to a credit of $15,000 available in July of each year of the 5-year agreement. In return, we commit to purchasing Nike uniforms for each Varsity program for which Nike offers. We are also getting a one-time total value of $6,000 retail price from the BSN Impact Team Store. These are branding items and a one-time cash signing bonus of $5,000 in the form of a check to the school.

This is a voluntary program that allows us to tap into not only traditional team discounts but we will also accrue an annual rebate based upon our BSN spending. i.e.: if we spend $150K with BSN during this calendar year we will earn an additional 10% ($15,000.00) rebate in credit.

This agreement will provide our department with about $30,000.00 additional dollars to our budget. This money will go to coach sideline gear, sub varsity uniforms, and additional needed items for your team that may not fit into the department budget. (The total will actually be $41,000.00 in year one.)

We are also currently going through BSN for most team stores. This type of on-line store is referred to as a flash store. This means that the store goes online for a short, defined period of time. Research indicate that short, well-advertised flash stores are the most productive.  The prices are attractive and less than you would pay at Dick’s Sporting Goods, etc. The total amount earned from flash stores is credited to our BSN spending total enabling us to earn an additional rebate at the end of the year.

The more we spend with BSN, the higher our rebate will be so I am asking that we get a bid from BSN on all purchases. For example we were in the market for a new pitching machine for baseball.  The retail cost of the machine was $2,600.00. We got it from BSM for $2,600.00 plus a $260.00 rebate.

There will always be some exceptions for more specialized equipment but by and large our major vendor will now be BSN.

All in all we will be adding in excess of $30,000.00 a year to our operating budget with money that was left on the table in years past with very little inconvenience.

If you have individual questions please stop by my office for a chat.

My best,
